Telemedicine Center at civil Hospital Aizawl, Mizoram 
- Inaugurated by Chief Minister & Minister of Health.

The Telemedicine Center at Civil Hospital Aizawl, Mizoram was inaugurated on 7th October 2005 in a high profile function. Pu Zoramthanga Chief Minister of Mizoram inaugurated the center. Pu R. Tlanghmingthanga Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Mr PS Bedi, Sr. Director, DIT and Dr Lavanian Vice President, ATNF were invited as special guests at the glittering function that was attended by doctors, News people and TV crew. The Center was setup by the DIT-CDAC-ATNF combine with active support by the Govt of Mizoram and dedicated to the people of Mizoram. Dr. D. Baruah, Additional. Director, Hospital. & Medical Education, was in over all charge of the event. Dr. D. Lavanian, Vice President, ATNF spoke on the occasion and stressed on how the center would bring world class specialist consultations through Telemedicine to the People of Mizoram. In addition he announced that the Chairman of the Apollo hospitals Group had pledged free consultations from the Apollo Hospitals specialists for the people of Mizoram. This was greeted by thunderous applause by the audience. This was followed by a Videoconference with Apollo, Chennai where Dr Prathap C Reddy, Chairman Apollo Hospitals group was a 'Virtual Guest' and spoke on the occasion to the CM and the august gathering. He reiterated his commitment to quality care and free Telemedicine consultations to the people of Mizoram. The CM and Minister of Health then toured the center and took keen interest in learning about the advanced instrumentations and workings of the center.
